1. Personal information we collect through this website

 

 

We collect personal information when you directly provide it to us, such as through website forms or contact email addresses.  This may include your:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Postal address

  • Business information including professional title 

 

 

 

We automatically collect information about you and your engagement with our website or communications.  We use tools to measure your website activities, such as the pages you may have clicked on, for which we may use pixel tags and cookies. We also may send email updates and may collect information about your interaction with our emails, such as whether you opened an email we sent you.  For example, we may collect the following pieces of personal information through these activities:

We may collect information about you from other sources.  We may receive additional information about you from public or third-party sources. For example, we may receive marketing, sales generation, and recruitment information from service providers or partners.

 

Truthset does not intend for this website or any of the Products to collect personal information from children under the age of 16.  If you are under 16 years of age, please do not send any personal information about yourself to us. If you believe that a child under the age of 16 may have provided us with personal information, please contact us via email at privacy@truthset.io.

2. How we use and share collected personal information
 

We collect, use, process, and store personal information in order to:

  • Provide you with the Products, including for billing purposes.

  • Build and improve our Products.

  • Communicate with you, including making you aware of product and feature promotions.

  • Personalize our website.

  • Receive and process job applications for jobs with us.

  • Detect, investigate and prevent harmful, fraudulent, and illegal activity and security issues and protect the rights and property of Truthset and others.

  • Incorporate your feedback, testimonials or reviews into our content, website or Products.  If we are interested in using any content associated with your personal information for publicity purposes, we will request your permission in advance.

  • Comply with applicable law, legal process or regulation.

  • Carry out purposes as disclosed at the time you provide your information, with your consent.
     

We will only share your personal information with third parties under the following circumstances:

  • With your consent or if you choose to share.

  • With affiliated businesses, agents, or vendors that are contractually engaged to provide us with services, such as email management and analytics. These companies are obligated by contract to safeguard any personal information they receive from us.

  • With any of our affiliated companies, including a parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under common control with us (in which case we will require such entities to honor this Privacy Policy).

  • If we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, valid legal process (e.g., subpoenas or warrants served on us), or governmental or regulatory request; to protect the security or integrity of the Services; and/or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Truthset, its employees, customers, users, or others. If we are going to release your data, we will do our best to provide you with notice in advance by email, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so.

  • In the event we go through a business transition (such as a merger, acquisition by another company, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, including, without limitation, during the course of any due diligence process), your personal information will likely be among the assets transferred. By providing your personal information, you agree that we can transfer such information in those circumstances without your further consent. Should such a business transition occur, we will make reasonable efforts to request that the new owner or combined entity (as applicable) follow this Privacy Policy with respect to your personal information. If your personal information would be used contrary to this privacy policy, we will request that you receive prior notice.

 


We may use or share your non-personal, de-identified or aggregated information in a variety of ways.

 

 


3. Your choices with our personal information uses 

 

If you are a business customer, you may contact us at any time and request the following choices with our use of your personal information:

  • Access. We can provide you with the personal information that we maintain about you.

  • Modification.  We will correct any mistakes with your personal information.

  • Opt-Out.  You may request that we cease using your information for marketing or other purposes that are not required to provide the Services you’ve requested.
    If you have received a commercial email from us, you will have the option to opt-out or unsubscribe provided in the email itself. 

  • Deletion.  You can request that we delete any personal information about you, unless we are required by contract or law to retain it.

 

Your browser may offer you a “Do Not Track” option, which allows you to signal to operators of websites and web applications and services (including behavioral advertising services) that you do not wish such operators to track certain of your online activities over time and across different websites. We do not support Do Not Track requests at this time.

 

Truthset is operated in the United States, and will process personal information exclusively in the U.S.  If you are visiting this website from outside the U.S., then by providing us with your personal information you are consenting to the transfer of that information to the U.S. 

 

 

 

4. Security

 

We use industry standard technical, administrative, and physical controls to protect your personal information. While we endeavor to protect the privacy of your personal information, we cannot guarantee complete security.

 

We will retain your personal information as long as we consider it relevant in order to maintain a relationship with you, or as required by law.  As noted above, if you are a business customer. you can request we delete your information at any time.   

 

 

 

5. Changes to this policy

 

If we change this policy, we will post an update on our home page. If the change involves something substantially different from our current policy, we will post the update in advance of the change taking place or send an email to everyone subscribed to our email updates.

1. Introduction to Truthset Data Privacy

 

Truthset is a business-to-business data validation platform. While we process personal information as noted below, we are not a marketer or advertising targeting service. We do not provide personal information back to customers via our Product that enables them to target you as an individual.    

 

We built privacy best practices into our product development efforts, including:

  • Data processing, not collection: As an independent data validation platform, we process data on behalf of our partners and customers, and do not currently collect information directly from consumers.  

  • Data segregation: The personal information we receive from our partners is not combined to create a ‘master profile database’, but rather is maintained independently with only the key matching attributes used as necessary to create our validation products.  

  • Data minimalism: We process the minimal amount of data necessary to deliver our products and services, and discard data that is outdated or irrelevant to our Products.

  • Trust and verify: We limit direct and channel partners who may participate with our Products on an invite-only basis with rigorous due diligence.

  • No data with special legal protections:  We don’t accept personal information about children under 16, protected health information, credit or other regulated decisioning information, financial account information or other data that may be deemed sensitive under U.S. law.

We collect personal information from our data partners or customers, including:

  • Names

  • Email addresses

  • Mobile device advertising identifiers such as Apple’s IDFA or Android’s AdID 

  • Cookie IDs

  • Postal addresses

  • Attributes associated with any identifiers, such as demographics or customer information

3. How our Products use collected personal information

 

As a data validation and scoring service, we are primarily modeling data to produce insights.  Specifically, we collect, use, process, and store personal information to:

  • Determine the accuracy of a set of personal information.

  • Report on advertising performance insights, such as whether the intended audience was reached with a given campaign.  

  • Provide custom scores or reports...

  • Carry out our obligations under our contracts with our customers.

 

A partner or customer may direct us to share personal information they provide us with various third parties or service providers, including:

  • Advertising providers such as demand-side platforms for media buying

  • Marketing analytics providers for further insights

  • Social platforms such as Facebook for custom advertising campaigns 

  • Cloud or other data hosting providers

 

We may use or share anonymous or aggregated information in a variety of ways.

4. Your choices with our Product personal information uses 

 

As Truthset does not collect personal information directly from consumers or other end users of our customers products or services, any requests to access, modify, object or delete your personal information should be directed to the Truthset business customer with whom you wish to make such a request.   However, if you are a California consumer with knowledge that Truthset is processing your personal information and wish to receive a copy of, or delete your information, please send us a request to privacy@truthset.io and we will provide you with instructions on how to complete the verification process.
